ICP vs. Eminem Somewhere at the beginning(around '95), back when Eminem was still a local nobody in Detroit trying
to get exposure, he threw a little concert party and made flyers. On the flyers, under a category of "MIGHT Make An Appearance,"
was about 30 of Detroit's biggest local acts from Esham to House of Krazees to, yes, ICP. Apparently,
Marshall (Eminem) was handing out flyers to a party where he would be performing and on the flyers it mentioned that
there might be an appearance by the Insane Clown Posse.... Violent J happened to obtain a flyer from him and asked what
was up with ICP being at the show. Marshall rattled on about how the party was gonna be mad fresh with so many people
there, then stated how he thought it would be fresh if ICP decided to show up and throw down some shit. He was like
<indirect quote> "You might be there, you might not... but if you showed up, it'd be straight."
(The whole situation was stated on ICP's diss to Eminem, Nothing But A Bitch Thang..... "I
remember yo ass at St. Andrews hall handing out yo flyers, 'come one come all come to my show.... I looked at it WHAT right
there, Insane Clown Posse might show up. What the fuck kind of rapper could be that lame, only way you draw people is
to use our name, I could have just fucked you up right there, but I let it pass, I felt bad for ya bitch ass.") The
feud really got heated up in 1998 when Eminem took shots at ICP on the Howard Stern show. Howard was interviewing Eminem and
asking him his opinion on other Detroit musicians. Howard named off Kiss, Kid Rock, etc. and then, when he said ICP, Eminem
replied by saying, "Who? Oh, them guys, yeah, we used to beat their asses all the time back in the day", or something along
those lines. The next day, Howard had ICP on the show and told them what Eminem had said, to which Violent J replied, "We
don't even know that bitch!" ICP and Twiztid hit the studio with a copy of Eminem's single "My Name Is." With Madrox,
doing a dead-on Eminem voice, ICP and Twiztid changed the lyrics to the song and dissed the hell out of Eminem. The song was
entitled "Slim Anus" and was played on The Juggalo Show, Mancow's show, The Howard Stern Show, and eventually found CD release
on Psychopathics From Outer Space. Eminem responded with a diss on his album, The Marshall Mathers LP. On the song entitled
"Marshall Mathers," he launches a verbal attack at ICP, saying: "Plus I was put here to put fear In fags who spray Faygo
root beer And call themselves clowns cuz they look queer Faggy 2 Dope and Silent Gay Claiming Detroit, when y'all
live 20 miles away And I don't wrestle, I'll knock you fuckin' faggots the fuck out Ask 'em about the club they was
at when they snuck out After they ducked out the back when they saw us and bugged out Ducked down and got paintballs
shot at their truck Look at y'all runnin' your mouths again When you ain't seen a fuckin' Mile Rd. south of 10 And
I don't need help from D12 To beat up two females In make up who may try to scractch me with Lee Nails Slim Anus?
You damn right, Slim Anus I don't get fucked in mine like you two little flaming faggots." Also, on the very next track,
a skit entitled "Ken Kaniff" was a simulated gay sex track with J and Shaggy. Later that year, Eminem found himself in
trouble with the law 2 times in 2 consecutive days. One of those times involved him pulling a gun on Douglas Dail, otherwise
known to juggalos as Dougie Doug, the brother of Psychopathic Don, Billy Bill. An altercation took place between them
apparently, and Eminem pulled a gun out on Dougie. He was later arrested for it and eventually got put on probation. It only
added fuel to the fire and ICP responded that year on the 4th of July when they released the song "Nothin' But A Bitch Thang"
on their website as a free download. The song was a BRUTAL diss, tagging out to not only Eminem, but his wife, daughter and
producer, Dr. Dre, as well. During Eminem's Up In Smoke Tour, part of Eminem's stage act included 2 blowup dolls painted
up like ICP in which he put them in gay positions, kicked em' around, etc. etc. ICP later released a new Eminem diss song
on their album "Bizaar", called "Please don't hate me".
ICP VS. MARZ Marz became a part of the Psychopathic world in late 2000 on the Bizzar/Bizzar Tour. When he joined the
tour Marz was actually the name of the band. Simply put, the band wasn't working out too well and so the lead singer fired
the rest of the group and took the name Marz. During the course of this tour, Violent J and Marz became good friends. During
this time, ICP was in the process of recording the first ever, long awaited Dark Lotus album, "Tales From The Lotus Pod." The
friendship between Marz and Violent J was growing so strongly that eventually, Violent J asked Marz to join Dark Lotus as
the 6th member. In his book, "Behind The Paint," Violent J says that he never should have asked Marz to be a part of the group
and that everyone else in the group was kinda iffy about the whole situation. So they began to record the album, with Marz
making an appearance on over half of the songs as the 6th member. During this time, a lot of other things were going down
with Marz and Psychopathic. They were trying to get Marz out of his current contract with E-magine Entertainment so that he
could sign to Psychopathic. Even though he wasn't on the label yet, Marz still managed to get onto the Psychopathic 2001 Sampler
CD, which featured clips of his album "Lung Fu Mo She" as well as a song called "Fuck Dem" by ICP and Marz. It seemed everything
was rolling along smoothly between Psychopathic and Marz. At the Gathering of the Juggalos in 2001, Tales From The Lotus
Pod was finally released and the juggalos loved it. Marz fit in pretty damn good with the feel of the album and juggalos were
on his jock. Marz performed a solo concert at the Gathering that year and also took the stage for the first ever Dark Lotus
performance that year at the Gathering. It would be the last time Marz ever took the stage with Lotus again. Merely a few
weeks after the Gathering of the Juggalos in 2001, Dark Lotus announced an upcoming in-store tour for the next month. The
lineup was Violent J, Shaggy, Monoxide, Madrox, Blaze, and....that was it. Marz was missing from the lineup, and no one was
talking. Speculation abounded as to why Marz wasn't listed as part of the group. Finally, InsaneClownPosse.com made an
update announcing that Marz had been dropped from the group because of legal troubles between Psychopathic and E-magine Entertainment.
The statement stated that regardless of this, there was no beef and Psychopathic still had mad love for Marz and all his people. But
it turns out that wasn't the case; Marz took the fact that his name was missing from the lineup personally. He quickly hit
up the big time juggalo websites, doing interviews and giving his side of the story. He claimed that Psychopathic (namely
Violent J) got pissed because they thought he was trying to "steal the fanbase." Marz attacked ICP stating that Violent J
was going around saying he wasn't on Psychopathic and had promoted to juggalos like he WAS on Psychopathic just to get juggalos
to listen to his shit. That was Marz's side of the story. Violent J later said that it was nothing like that at all, but
simply legal issues. They were trying to get Marz, but E-magine wouldn't let him go without all kinds of money, and it wasn't
worth the trouble. Plus they were wanting a cut of the money from the Lotus album after saying beforehand that they wouldn't
try to get royalties from it. That was J's side. Regardless who's side of the story you believe, the fact of the matter
was, no one was buying the idea that there was no beef between the 2 parties. This was more evident when Marz decided to release
a song called "The Real Dark Lotus" on his website. The song was hyped for a little while, and when it was released, the song
was a diss aimed at ICP featuring, among other things, the line "I'm the 6th joker's card." Violent J responded in 2002.
Tales From The Lotus Pod was re-released at the 2002 Gathering, except this time, Marz's vocals had been deleted and ABK had
replaced him. On the song "Bitch I'm Sexy", Violent J says "Hey yo Marz...you never were Lotus, and you know this, bitch!" Marz
took to the internet this time to respond. In an interview conducted by RealJuggahos.com, Marz dissed Violent J, Jumpsteady,
and Monoxide Child. His reasons for dissing Jumpsteady aren't really clear, but he dissed Monoxide for the 2002 interview
with RJ, Monoxide had some pretty unkind things to say about Marz. That wasn't all though. Marz also took a webcam picture
of himself holding a gun and pointing it at the camera, and the caption on the picture said "Hey Joe, call me a bitch again
you fat motherfucker" or something along those lines. The Psychopathic camp didn't really comment much on it anymore, but
the story wasn't quite done. In early 2003, Twiztid had their own Green Book Tour lined up. Apparently, Twiztid and Marz patched
things up because Marz was scheduled to open up for Twiztid on the tour. It looked like everything was all gravy until the
very first show of the tour when Marz got dropped. Psychopathic never really explained why they were dropped, but Marz
did an interview and gave his story: he says Violent J came out and talked to Twiztid and made them drop Marz off the tour.
Whether that's the case or not, I guess we'll never know, but that was Marz's story. The saga, for now, ended with one
last bit from Violent J. In his book Behind The Paint which came out at the GOTJ in 2003, he discussed the situation with
Marz and Dark Lotus. J revealed that he actually hates listening to the first Dark Lotus album because it feels "tainted"
by having Marz on it. To him it's just not right and he doesn't like listening to it, performing it, or anything. That album
was made in a bad period in his life and he just hates the whole fuckin' thing. Marz still has some sort of small ties
to Psychopathic, however. In late 2003, Marz performed a short, small-venue tour with former Psychopathic rapper Myzery.
ICP VS. COAL CHAMBER (namely their manager, Sharon Osbourne) Insane Clown Posse was on the Howard Stern Show and
a band called Coal Chamber was there to confront them. Coal Chamber was kicked off ICP's tour and they wanted to know why.
ICP explained it and during that discussion ICP called Coal Chamber's manager, Sharon Osbourne, some names. Sharon heard about
it and called Gary's voice mail late in the show. She basically said she would beat the crap out of them and she's not afraid
of them because she weighs 225 pounds. Howard invited her down and called ICP back to invite them in to confront her. The
both agreed and showed up this morning. Earlier in the show ICP said that if Sharon made any move toward them to touch them
they'd beat the crap out of her. Unfortunately that didn't happen. What did happen was pretty funny. Sharon, who is Ozzy Osbourne's
wife, came in and yelled at ICP and called them washed up losers. Sharon said that ICP has only sold 400,000 albums and that
it's stopped selling already. ICP didn't stand for her crap and fought right back calling her a fat bitch and calling Ozzy
a ''half retarded junkie'' among other things. The three of them went at it for over a half hour constantly calling each other
names and arguing about the number of albums ICP has sold. Howard kept them separated so that they wouldn't get into a fist
fight. At one point Sharon threw her glasses at the guys but that was as far as that went. Sharon told ICP that ''Ozzy's farts
have more musical credibility..'' than they do. They pointed out that she once pushed Korn's manager down the stairs. She
admitted to that and even added that she punched him before pushing him down the stairs. She didn't get into the details but
it sure sounded like it would have made a good story. Sharon even offered to bet the boys $50,000 that their next album wouldn't
sell more than 200,000 units. That album doesn't come out for another year and a half but ICP said they'd up the number to
500,000 units. Sharon also said that Coal Chamber would be suing ICP for breaking their contract with them. Needless to say,
they didn't settle anything with their arguments. Howard eventually had to wrap everything up and let each of them get in
their last words.
ICP VS. DISNEY The Great Milenko era was one of the most complicated times in the history of Insane Clown Posse. During
this era, ICP had been signed with Hollywood Records, which is owned by the Disney corporation. After ICP had submitted Great
Milenko to be released, their label returned it asking them to change the lyrics. If they refused, Disney wouldn't approve,
and wouldn't release the album. Well, ICP had been recording from Mike E. Clark's basement, not a high tech studio. In order
to meet Disney's requests, the whole album would have to be redone from scratch. Begrudgingly, ICP changed only a few of the
lyrics. The album was then approved, although it was mainly the same lyrics Disney didn't like to in the first place. The
Great Milenko became available for sale June 24, 1997 at 12:01 a.m. By around 4:00 p.m. the following day, Disney pulled the
album from every shelf in the nation. They were also dropping ICP from Hollywood Records. Disney was being boycotted by the
Southern Baptists for allowing gay marriage, and not upholding family values. The corporation made an attempt to hide
everything that wasn't considered family-like, just to stop the Baptists. However, Disney knew all along what ICP was about,
and were trying to get paid off it as well. They pulled the album just to act like they had never been involved in the first
place. ICP fought back by getting the media involved. Manager Alex Abbiss called the L.A. Times and told them the whole story.
Moments later, the story hit the world. Not only was it in newspapers, but on CNN, CBS, and NBC as well. The media
ate up the Insane Clown Posse VS. Disney controversy. This allowed every record company in America to offer ICP a contract.
Unfortunately, Disney decided to stir up more trouble. Disney claims they were out a million dollars from The Great Milenko.
ICP wouldn't be allowed out of the contract with Hollywood Records until it was paid. Eventually the dues were lowered to
$500,000.
